I am a near 60 year old female, married for 42 years. I have 1 child, who is married with a daughter of her own.
At 7:30 a.m., June 30th 2012, while outside in my front yard, I discovered a teeny tiny little white bunny rabbit. I immediately picked it up, discerned it is female and she was not a wild rabbit, but one that had been born in captivity.
I checked with all of my nieghbors in a 3 block area, called Animal Control and the nearest Vet clinic to report her as being found. I volunteered to keep her in my home and if no owners came forward after the normal 7 business days, would happily adopt her into our home.
Need to mention that I also have a 12 year old Chow, who does not know she is a Chow (LOL) and she adores the bunny.
Snow Ball, as I've named her is pure white. She has the cutest ears and no markings whatsoever. She appears to look extremely similar to a Satinette, but her ears are just a touch longer than theirs.
I took her to the Vet yesterday, July 8 2012, and he says she is approximately 8-9 weeks of age and will more than likely not weigh more than 4 pounds at adult age..
I bought her a huge 4 foot long x 2' x 2' condo, an out door playpen, Timothy Hay, bedding, dark green leafy veggies, and a few other treats, along with Rabbit Pellet foor which also has dried fruit in it, a Hay Ball and .... Needless to say, Snow Ball is in a good place:)
I will be uploading photos of her in the hopes that someone can help me figure out what breed she actually is.
I do have a Face Book Album with her photos here: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.3547849301493.2131861.1430378224&type=3
Also, I read here about salt licks not being absolutely necessary, but she is always licking on me to get the sweat... So...
Thanks for bearing with me as I babble on about our new bundle of joy:)
